University Hull

The University of Hull was founded in 1927. Originally just one building on Cottingham Road, Hull, the University has grown organically - new academic buildings and library - and through the acquisition of the adjacent University of Lincoln’s Hull campus and University College Scarborough’s campus. The University of Hull is not renowned internationally for its research but it is a big favourite with students, consistently doing well in the National Student Survey for overall satisfaction. This success is influenced by the low cost of living in Hull; the availability of low-cost accommodation; the quality of its courses; and the excellent social life. Famous alumni of Hull University include Anthony Minghella, director of Truly, Madly, Deeply and The English Patient; John McCarthy, the Beirut hostage; and Roger McGough, poet and member of The Scaffold. Any school-leaver would do well to consider the University of Hull, and to help you make up your mind this year’s Open Days will be held on Saturday 11 July and Saturday 10 October. Full details at
